Is there a visible button the lid of the laptop pushes that is stuck? Is there a faint image on the screen (meaning only the backlight isn't working)? What company and model is your laptop?

you can go to the local store for reparing such a stuff,there are many of them everywhere, the info you provided is just insufficient
