Did she make a copy of her application? Does she have the name of the caseworker that she turned it in to? Names of anyone that she talked to? She's got to be able to back this up somehow.

I hate to be insensitive but...

It has been five years. Has she even tried to get her life together so she doesn't need section 8? Section 8 is a temporary housing assistance. If she had applied and gotten it 5 years ago would she still be living there? How has she been getting by since she first applied?
This story just doesn't seem right. Can you give more information? Is she disabled?

You seem to have forgotten to mention that everyone gets papers to renew their application for HUD once per year..... so you may want to question your neighbor. Or I have a quaint idea - why not get a job like the rest of us instead of that "poor pitiful me" attitude....

U can bear witness that she's waited/that she was on the List.
Go seek legal advice, they're pulling a fast 1 & really shoudn't get away with it!

not sure, maybe better to just forget it and work on another life solution

maybe patiently write down what happened, in a page or so. Then mail it to government officials. Maybe somebody in HUD could or would help. Maybe not.

Oh my god that is horrible! She should contact a lawyer or something - I think you can fight to get section 8 just like you can fight to get SSI...

It shoudln't take more than 2 years to get it... she should have known.

That's exactly why I have never relied on Governmental hand-outs....get out there and make it work for herself, the government is not concern about one person they don't have to help.

GET A JOB YOU MORON!

Look honey! Another whiny liberal that wants everyone to feed her, clothe her, and pat her on the butt and tell her everything is going to be ok...get a life loser.
