When you used the Laptop last time everything was fine and OK. This means that you probably were using the Laptop Battery and that it was not connected to the Power Outlet ( you did not mention that it was ).

Now you said that even when you connect the one end of the Power Supply to the outlet and the other end to the Laptop, the PSA ( Power Supply Adapter ) light only blinks, normally this means that probably your battery had drained down completely and it is charging. Blinking light on the Power Supply Adapter indicates that.

So you can leave your laptop off with the PSA connected to it and connected to the Electric outlet for a few hours. Check whether the Power Supply light blinks even after that.

If it does not then, check if your Laptop works by turning it on. If there are battery charge indicators lights on your battery, check them to see if the battery is getting charged.

If it still blinks then probably your battery has become defective and does not hold charge anymore. It is also possible that the PSA is not working as well. I say this because you did not mention that you connected or disconnected your Power Supply Adapter the first time.

Also, you did not say whether you disconnected the PSA from the outlet after using the Laptop the first time ( " So the other day I turned on the computer, checked my e-mail, turned it back off and left "). If this is the case then it is possible that your battery got too much over-charged that it simply died.

There either might be a problem with the power supply or the battery. I suggest you take the computer into the shop to have a technician look at it and try to repair it.

Try plugging your power cord into a different outlet. It could be that the circuit breaker is tripped but you had no idea that anything was wrong because when you last used your PC you were running on the battery.
