Some members of Bush's cabinet - Cheney, Wolfowitz, Pearle - were members of his fathers Presidential cabinet during the first gulf war. They tried to push Bush Sr into continuing the war into deposing Saddam Hussein - Bush Sr knew what would come of that and refused to allow it.
Almost all of Saddam's crimes stem from that time period 15 years ago.
The Iraq invasion was planned before 9/11. It was thought to be easy, cheap, and good for business. The hard part was selling it to the American public - until 9/11. The neocons intended to be greeted as liberators and then sell the Iraq oil reserves on the open market(to Halliburton) so that Iraq could pay for it's own reconstruction (by Halliburton).
At the same time, they were going to reduce military costs that had been 'bloated' by the free spending democrats - hence the shortage of troops, armor, and vehicles, and the permanent activation of the states national guards.
In addition, the Saud Royal family was getting pressured by it's Wahhabi fundamentalist population to force out the US base in the holy land of Islam - Saudi Arabia. Bush did remove this base to cool things for the Sauds. We were supposed to be able to replace it by putting it in the friendly country of Iraq .
As you know, none of this worked out, at all.
Incompetence is the hallmark of the Bush administration.

George W. Bush has not destroyed Iraq. In fact, since Saddam Hussien has been removed from power, Iraq is the the road to democracy and becoming a developed country. If you want to hear the Good News happening in Iraq, I recommend you to watch The 700 Club because they tell you stories about what is happening in Iraq that nobody else dares to tell you.

A good question that certainly stirs up the morons who slavishly believe anything they are told. I think an answer to your question will be found in the film Fahrenheit 911, it all boils down to money, Iraq seemed like an easy pushover that would get rid of an evil dictator and would not be opposed by other Arab states. The ultimate prize being their oil fields but it didn't work out that way. We in the UK as well as the American public were led into a war based on lies and deceit.
North Korea and Iran with their nuclear technology pose a bigger threat to world stability than any other country, but would Bush and his sidekick Yogi Blair attack either of those, of course not. Korea doesn't have anything worth taking and Iran would respond by bombing everything in sight.

Because the USA is running out of oil. So it was good excuses for Bush to Invade Iraq and have control of the oil fields there. Bush sadly like to use the crap story about Saddam as an excuse for invading Iraq; But the hiding agenda was really oil

He didn't.
Saddam did and kept it destroyed for decades.
Unless you lived in one of his palaces.
Quick question.
Why did Saddam refuse to cooperate with the UN?
It would have been much easier.
