There's a story behind this. I'll see if I can make it short. I was talking to an Indian guy, and he was telling me about how bad the situation with the Muslim terrorists is in Pakistan. It's held at bay in India ONLY because of a large Hindu population.
The reason I'm asking this question is because I see a lot of people on here saying that terrorism isn't a "real threat", and it's being blown out of proportion by President Bush and the "neocons."
That would be a problem, since I know a Hindu, who HAD lived in Afghanistan, and when the Taliban took over, he had to leave. He wasn't the only one. They kicked out EVERYONE who wasn't Muslim. Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists...they all had to leave, usually with no more than one suitcase.
How can anyone, regardless of political affiliation, NOT realize that terrorism is a threat?

I don't like insulting anybody but the people who claim muslim extemism and terrorism aren't a serious threath are being stupid. This is an organised and well armed effort to destroy Westren democracy as we know it.Our enemy doesn't see us or anyone who's not really muslim in their definition as human and therefore has no restraint in the violence it will use to kill us.In this regard I believe Osama ,his organisation and all of his copy cats are a bigger threat than Communism ever was. They were not out to killl us all, however you feel about them and let me just make clear I have no communist symphaties.
One other thing I'd like to add is that we can never claim victory if we end up with less than an open democracy based on the rule of law and there you're goverment is seriously failing.Guantanamo and the admission of secret CIA prisons are evidence we are loosing the war.Terrrorists seek to end our way of life that is based of freedom and the rule of law and whenever we set our democratic rules and International law aside to deal with them, they are sucseeiding.
I don't like Bush and he makes it very easy to feel that way but that's still no reason to not see the serious threat to our way of life terrorists pose.I just wished the US took International law serious cos I thought we were fighting for justice and not to bring down one form of fascism to replace it with another.
I'm not glad or happy that I feel this way but it's my honest opinion and I hope the next months and years will change this feeling.

Your question is about India, yes? Well look into the Issues that India has with Pakistan. It has nothing to do with terrorrism, thats reall only a cover. About 60 years ago (or maybe 40, i forget), Pakistan used to be part of India, but the Muslims of India did not want a Hindu leader and be persecuted, so they revolted and created their own province with Islamic rules and morals, giving everybody religious freedom. That province is now the counrty of Pakistan.
Basically, I think this is more political revenge then international threat. If Bush and Blair decide to condemn Pakistan for whatever reason, Pakistan is no longer a country and the land will go back to India, and all Pakistani resources and people will probably be treated very, very, unequally.

Good story. The only people who think terrorism is not a threat seem to fall into two categories, a) people who are upset we're not dealing with President Gore, and b) people who think 9/11 happened ONLY because Bush was elected.

Neither are worth your time or the effort to even listen to...

Lots of people say Saddam Hussein wasn't a real threat. Can you name any who say terrorism isn't a real threat? Of course it is, so why did Bush let Osama escape in Afghanistan? Because then he wouldn't have an excuse to invade Iraq.

People hate Bush and will say or make up whatever they can to try and hurt him.
If a Democrat was president this would not be an issue, period.
Muslims are Muslims. They don't need Bush, Blair or anything else to convince them to start trouble.
Gee, Bush sucks! I am going to behead a journalist today, yeah, thats it!

Some Liberals hate Bush so much that they say terrorism isn't that serious.
Liberals think that if we surrender, the terrorists will be our buddies.
Liberals are concerned about the civil rights of captured terrrorists.
Here's the ironic thing: terrorists would just as soon kill a liberal as anyone else.
Hey liberals, kissing terrorists asses won't work.

You answered your own question. India is Hindu not Muslim. They are as much infidels as Christians and Jews and have to be converted, enslaved or eliminated. India is in an even worse position since it is surrounded by Muslim nations.
