German Irish with a dash of Belgian. Oh yeah, and Prussian too! I forgot I saw that in our family tree.

I'm not proud of it. It's just fact.

Although I think I could be proud of being Prussian - for some reason it makes me feel like puffing out my chest and putting on some tall black boots....

Heritage Background

2016-10-18 05:48:58 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

My grandparents were of four distinct ancestries: Irish; French; German; and English. Perhaps because of the family name which is Irish, and also because my father talked a lot about his Irish ancestors, I tend to view myself as Irish. Weird, but true!

My kids are thus true hyrbids. My first wife was Cuban; Spanish; and Scottish, so my Cuban-American kids are super hybrids with at least 7 ancestries.

My second wife is Aztec and Spanish (which is called mestizo, that is, mixed.) So, those kids also reflect at least 6 distinct ancestries.

That hyrbid vigor is wonderful. My male ancestors never rose above manual laborers and dirt farmers, and I was the first to get a college degree, though I stayed in my work as a production electronics technician. One son is a college professor. The other is in med school. A daughter is working on her second Master's degree, though she is dyslexic. The fourth has a bachelor's degree and is a stay at home mom.

So, I am proud to help give that hybrid vigor to my kids, and see them all rise well above my own background. It does't get any better than that.

I am an american, and my ealiest ancestor came to this country in the 1600's as a bond servant. He worked for 8 years for his freedom.
I am proud of the people who really made this country great, they were the families that lived and died without any mention in the history books the backbone of this nation were the simple people living and loving thier families. This is my heritage, strong families, generation after generation . a little trivia, in 6 generations on one branch of my family tree there has never been a divorce, that tradition still holds.

I am proud to be Haitian even thoguh my country is in turmiol and that it is basically ruined. But i know that someday God will take out all that trouble. And people are alwasy saying that we are voodoists but i am sure not! I am a Christian (Baptist) and believe in God and only Him. I am proud of the way my country got their independence and how they fought for it. But yeah i am not even a little ashamed of the way that the country has gotten cuz im relying it alll on God. And just to know that we were the first country to get their independence of the black countries. We are very serious when it comes to family. Thats one of our true vlues that we don;t play with. We are good with food. The best food i tasted! And we love having fun. I love my country!!!!!!

I am African American. Both my grandmother's had 13 children, half of them are now killed off or in jail. One of them was raised in Chicago; the other from a sharecropper field in Mississippi. One of my grandmothers always tell me all the time about how she would manually catch a hog and kill it toeat it, and evertying else she grew in her own backyard. She never made it passed the 8th grade because she was pregnant. There were no lights in the country; my mom tells me she used to be excited to go to the city where all the "lights were." Now, I am the first in my family to attend college (which is quite a scholarship, I might add). I am glad I have a distinct southern accent and love my hometown.
