As big as the universe seems to be, and as "ordinary" as our planet seems to be in the scheme of things, it is almost silly to believe we are alone. It is almost as silly to believe "aliens are visiting us" however, since the distances involved would require technology so far in advance of what we possess, that if "they" came here it would only be to eat us. And we're still here. So far...

Wouldn't it be fun if we were able to find some kind of alien!? But unfortunately, there is not one single, tiny eensy-weensy iota of evidence that there are any living things in the universe other than us.
But, since the astronomy guys are now very convinced that many other stars have planets around them, and that many of those planets have conditions not too different from earth, we can still hope that some day we will find some other life!

Life doesn't necesarily mean some big scary alien living in a crater on mars... BUT if they find water on a planet then life forms can start there as most creatures need water to live... life can mean a splodge of insecty type thing i guess....!

Of course not. There are hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy and there are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe. Isn't it a bit big-headed of people to think that we are the sole purpose of the universe?!
