you were going to get it, it was a bad thing. And now, you want to get it as much as possible. Why does "it" take on drastic meanings?

Because your definition of what "it" is changes with experience. When you were a kid, you knew "it" meant you were in trouble. As a grown up, "it" is defined as something totally different! For instance, I know in the current stage of my life that whatever I get will generally be a positive experience. I'm too old to get in trouble anymore, so I look forward to getting "it", because "it" is just one more thing that if I get, I can have.

Because when you were a kid "it" often had a bad connotation. It was always the element of fear that kept us straight- not much more was needed to keep us.

Now, since we are adults, we all know what "it" was then, and know it wont happen now. We assigned differnt meanings to "it", and they are usually in a provacative, or adult meaning behind them. We ALWAYS look forward to getting "it" from our significant other. Sometimes it is used in play, but now it no longer means you are going to be spanked if you misbehave! (unless asked...lol j/k)

Its all about wordplay....

Because "it" can mean anything, which frightens us as children. Like the dark scares you when you are little because you don't know what it means. As you get older "it" can mean anything and there fore it intrigues us. while small the unknown scared us , so it meant something bad. While older the unknown intrigues us, therefore is good.
****Sorry but this whole thing reminds me of the knights who say "NI!" (freak out every time someone says "it")
