Supposedly there is truth to some of those offers regarding free consoles that you see in banner ads but it requires you to give them all your info, get spammed to death and to subscribe to all kinds of crap (read the terms and see how long before you can cancel). I'm not sure how much it would cost you for all that. After all the BS (providing you have done everything just right) you will EVENTUALLY get what you were after, could take months and months, maybe even more than a year or two.

You wont be able to get one for free until they release the PS3 and even then you will have a hard time getting one for free but if you really want to get one for free you could try to go to Consumer Reward Center (Its a web site) they usually offer to send you a free console of you choice for filling out a survey or something. If you try to do that now (Before the PS3 is released) they will just send you the money equivalent of the prize you asked for.
If that doesn't work go to www.cheatcc.com or www.cheatcodecentral.com and you will probably get a pop-up that offeres a free PS3 but I suspect that they are scams and you might get a virus from the sight i did but know my computers fixed so its all good. (I got some spy-ware virus and the Trojan Horse Virus from one of the pop-ups so be careful)
