Put it in trash bags and tie it off. Place the trash bags near the city-issued garbage can. They may not pick all of it up at once, but keep putting it out on the curb until its gone.

You should contact your local Solid Waste Management Authority for these matters. Most communities have large item collection at least a couple times a year.
