"Our Friend Judith": This story, as the narrator suggests, should modify our notions of the typical English spinster. How is the stereotype modified? Is it wholly reversed, drastically changed, or changed only in a superficial way?

Thanks so much !

:) i suggest looking up what "modified" means in the dictionary (try www.dictionary.com). understanding that will help u answer the questions:

WHOLLY reversed = complete change, everything is different. figure out what is the notion of "typical English spinster", and what the story is saying is different from the original thought.

drastically changed = large, almost completely reversed, but still some things the same. so read the story, figure out if that is what it says.

changed in superficial way = figure out what superficial means (www.dictionary.com again).

now, choose which one is correct! i don't know the story, so i can't tell u the correct answer, but i'm guessing it is the last one, because modified kind of insinuates a small change. good luck!
