Casa Rio was the first business to open its doors on the Riverwalk. They have authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex. (Don't let an individual's food prejudices sway you.) I have always had great service and wonderful food there. The prices are really reasonable, too.
There are also many other good places to eat. Check out the second link for the official Riverwalk website.
If you want a true Riverwalk experience, I suggest staying away from the chain restuarants, like Dick's, Hooters, or Durty Nelly's. You can get that anywhere. The Riverwalk should be special.

Dick's is funny and Joe's Crab Shack is good too. A newer restaurant is the Rainforest Cafe. That's a good one if you have kids.
Check out this site-- http://thesanantonioriverwalk.com/Membership/Directory.asp
It should be a listing of all the Food/Drink establishments on the Riverwalk. We always check it out before we go downtown.
Hope it helps and have fun!

Boudro's Texas Bistro on the Riverwalk It is great. If you eat there, please order the Guacamole. It is one of their specialties. This is the only place I like to eat there. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Hope to see you there. Good Luck.

Yes, but stay away from the "Mexican" restaurants. They're all Tex-Mex and BLECCH.
Tony Roma's is always safe. :)
