Pease go to: www.belarc.com and download their free software program.

The program will take a full picture of your entire system, listing every part with serial #, platform used with serial #, all programs you have in your system with the names & ID's plus all critical updates from Microsoft.

After the picture is taken a new screen will open with an indepth details of everything you have in your system with serial #'s

If you are missing any critical updates it will list them and give you the url to obtain the missing critical updates.

I am a clinical psychiatrist an I have always had this software in my system. It is excellent if you put your pc in the shop.

You copy all the ID's on your hardware an when you get back your pc you run a scan from Belarc and you verify if a good chip was removed for a cheaper cheap.

Excellent evidence. Plus it is free.

I always print out a copy on my printer. Usually runs four pages long.

There is a much simpler way to doing this. You turn off the computer, open up the case, and pull out the harddrive. The serial number is on the hard drive.
