Affordable and available renewable energy is NOW not in the future,
all has already been invented.
Why is giving money to terrorists and making the top richest companies --oil companies-- Rich more important than everything else? especially civilian lives now and in future generations?

because they want to continue to GROW the money that they have. they are a bunch of self-indulging jerks that don't care about the lives that they are ruining, all the lives that have been lost during the time that U.S. troops have been overseas.

This is NOT a war on terror, it is a ploy to guarantee that their holdongs on oil are still okay.

You are very right. there are other alternatives to putting oil in our cars. unfortunately, the government does not want to invest in these alternatives because their pockets are in too deep with foreign oil. can you imagine the turnover on cars that are fueled by gasoline to those that are more efficient (hybrid, etc.). I mean, car salesmen would look so much differently. would they lose money on having to "get rid" of cars that are fueled by gasoline? or would they prosper because everyone and their mother would want a car that is more efficient, using less oil? I would say the latter is correct. Whatever it takes, I think sales persons should be given the leeway to do whatever they think is best for their business (providing fuel efficient cars to the masses.)

And to the moron who said, Bush does not buy gasoline, we do...you're a moron. Of course Bush buys the oil; he and his cronies are the ones responsible for the prices being so ridiculously high

I hate bush

Wow, what a great question. I basically found out that bush could be incredibly smarter than we expect of? If no freedom, then they does no longer attack us ? lol So bush needs to take the damn concern inflicting freedom away, that's a clever physique of strategies for him, why scuffling with them, basically kill their interest in US , not extra freedom !? lol And for unlawful Immigration matters, use an identical trick, now why do people go the borders, $$$ is the respond, so harm the financial gadget and devalue US $, then they run like hell south bond path !? the guy could be a genius ? Regards.

Because right now only a limited amout of vehicles are capable of useing the new fuels....and many americans, myself included, CAN"T afford to go out and buy a brand new vehicle that is capable of E85 gas or is electric....and if you look at fuels....most gas is only part ethonel and not very much...which mean most of it is still made with oil....and we just can't get enough oil from just here we have to go else where....

Because we Americans keep BUYING gasoline. We buy gas guzzling trucks and SUVs and ride in them alone. We seldom carry any cargo in our trucks, heck, we payed a lot of money for that 4X4. We wouldn't want to scratch it.
We Americans need to push for more E85 fuel.
This would help our farmers. The money we spend on fuel would be kept locally. It is better on the environment.
We don't need any more oil refineries, we need E85 plants. And don't build them near the coast where a hurricane can stop production.
With E85, every time the wind blows in the Gulf of Mexico, the price of fuel won't jump 50 cents a gallon.
We Americans need to accept the responsibility for the money pouring out of this country for oil, and stop blaming our government.

well, it's complicated. the short version is that regardless of which political party a politician belongs to, they all have constituencies to satisfy, those who have donated money to their campaign because federal funds can't be used to fund political campaigns. you have over-simplified the problem in question. the oil companies have no direct and explicit ties to terrorism and therefore it's a fallacy to assert that such a connection exists. america funds the war on terror through foreign policy and support of foreign nationals that have been historically proven to have ties to terrorism is an integral part of american history. osama bin laden was once supported by the reagan administration (given weapons, training, and money) but due to a disillusionment of the fundamental things that america stands for, he became resentful and we all know the rest of the story. before you ask such a directed and politically slanted question, i suggest that next time you read a little history to find out that oil, while an important commodity, is not the reason or way that america funds terrorism.

Which terrorists are selling us oil?
We have to buy oil somewhere. The Democrats stopped our drilling in Anwr and some off shore.
Tell us secrets. Tell us what terrorists are selling us oil.

Bush doesn't buy the oil. YOU do. You have the choice every time you fill up your car.
