Tell them the truth and assure them that nothing at the present time will get in the way of doing the best possible job for them until the baby is here. Assuring that you will make every effort to make appointment, baby classes etc after work hours and that you plan to work up to the last day and will be back after the normal 6 or 8 weeks unless the doctor instructs any differently.

No not necessary. It is true that getting hired on a new job is less likely by them knowing your pregnant. Alot of people dont even find out their pregnant til their further along. SO.... you should wait til after you get hired on a job cause then they cant fire you cause it would be based on discrimination. Say you work there for 2 weeks...which would make you 8 wks pregnant which hell i didnt even find out til i was 10 wks. Anyhow, then they inevitable have to except the fact your pregnant and eal with it. But, morally if your just a nice person go ahead and tell them.... but you will have a harder time getting hired

I would say no, Im not sure how your employer is, but I was in the exact same position and was denied the other position. It is discrimination to deny employment or for an advancement into another position because you are pregnant, but in this case how could we really know. I truly believe I was denied the other position because I was pregnant because my employer knew I would be taking maternity leave and didn't want to have to wait for me in that other position. Many times people don't usually tell there employer until they are 3 months pregnant anyways.

On the other hand, if you feel your employer is not like that, than yes, you should tell them, hopefully you don't have an employer like mine....

In most states, I think that the employer is not allowed to ask this question. In NY, you're not allowed to ask it or marital status. Also can't ask age (month and day of birth, but not year). If you've already been with the company, you could inform your human resources department and see what they have to say. You would have to report to HR anyway for maternity leave and health benefits.

Absolutely! I don't know what your plans are regarding pregnancy leave or being a stay at home mom, but if you are planning to stay at home, you absolutely must tell them or you will never be eligible for rehire at that company. I had to do that when I was offered a promotion right after I got pregnant. I told them that it wouldn't be right for me to accept it, because they would just have to train someone else in 5 months. As it happened, I still wasn't eligible for rehire, because I declined pregnancy leave with the intention of being a stay at home mom. Can you imagine what their attitude towards letting me return to work would have been if I had waited until I was trained and working in my new position?

Yes. You'll be showing in a few months, and when you give birth, they'll figure out pretty quickly you were pregnant when you interviewed. Then they'll know that you with-held that information, and not trust you on other stuff afterwards.

hi, Face-face is the perfect thank you to artwork issues out. by giving a letter, she would be waiting to think of you at the instant are not "mature" adequate to speak issues over individually, like grown ups :P. that isn't help if she gets that view on you. clarify to her on an excellent word which you're pregnant. i do no longer recommend you asserting: "Mum, i've got have been given some...uhhh...undesirable new to tell you"... this might in simple terms kill her confident emotions. Ummm...nicely, no abortion/ abortion, that's your determination. you're, arguably, sufficiently old to make that form of decision. nicely, good success, in simple terms make certain you're valuable relating to the alternative you have made. =)

They might judge you on that and not give you the job you want. I didnt tell my employer, until i had to, because they think when maturity leave comes up they are going to be sort handed.
