I think the only ones that are transferrable are the presidental ones and they haven't sold those for at least 15 years.

They are usually non-transferable because the gyms would loose money that way. Usually the only way to cancel a membership of this type you would need a statement from a physician stating you were unable to exercise due to a medical condition.

I was in the same situation and asked the people at the front desk at my club. They just shrugged and said their job was to sell new memberships. So I was out of luck. They won't help you get rid of it.

non transferrable , unless to a family member in your immediate family.
