John Lennon........so far ahead of his time and I would be interested in what political statements he would put into his music today.

Either The Verve, in my opinion, one of the best bands ever and to finish so early was wrong, Richard Ashcroft should have stuck with them, he's not as good on his own.
OR
The lead singer of Joy Division, an awesome band who should never have finished it was only because he committed suicide that it was all over but New Order took over but he was still the man really, can't remember his name though.

Karen Carpenter...apart from being a great singer (and drummer, bedamned), had the usual late-teenage fantasies about her in the early-mid seventies. Wonder how she would measure against the (mostly) feted spoilt female singers nowadays?
Obviously the amount of Freddie Mercury answers suggest they watched the programme on t' telly. Missed the booger...returned home from work when it was ending!

Freddie Murcury.
That man had more musical talent than any other person who ever walked this earth. He inspired so many people and changed the face music and the way the world thinks (although we might not always realise it at first,,,) . He still had so much to give. A legend who was lost too soon if you ask me.

John Lennon. He had such an impact by speaking out against the heavy-handedness of Richard Nixon, I'd just LOVE to see what he'd do to the current administration....

That, and his music was way ahead of its time.
