Out of the two....I would say Wolverine. He is an anti-hero of sorts. He is out to do good, but will use whatever method necessary to get the job done. He also has more years on him, so he is wiser. Spiderman is too goody goody the majority of the time.

it all depends on what your definition of "best" and "hero" is...

Wolverine is an ex-soldier, an ex-secret agent, an x-man, and an avenger. he protects the people he needs to but is not above killing many people in the process (like he says "I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice").

Spider-man has never killed and is the "everyman" which makes him more appealing. he a more upbeat and cheerful character who has gone through quite a bit of hardship, and is going to go through a lot more from the looks of it (if you don't know what i'm talking about, check out CIVIL WAR)

to tell the truth, as much as the CIVIL WAR story line is grabbing my attention, the aftermath of INFINITE CRISIS has also grabbed my attention and i'm drawn more towards DC at the moment (the comics being 52, Flash, Robin, and the Teen Titans).

why? let me give you a brief reason why i'm reading them... i kinda grew up with the characters... Tim Drake, the third robin, was someone i grew up reading about during my teens, and his character has changed so much since the beginning... to the point wher he is right now at the same place (coming into his own) as the second robin (current nightwing) Dick Grayson was when he left Batman.

Bart Allen, grandson to the second flash, and now taking up his grandfathers mantle as the current flash. was born in the future, arrived in the present and the physical age of 12, chronological age of 3. grew up in the present, went to another dimension and became an adult and lost most of his family and friends battling a foe stronger than superman.

i like these characters... my definition of a heroe is someone who does the best they can, under unusual circumstance, and at times even against their normal nature... that makes them heroes, even when they fail. the characters that i follow in DC comics are heroes in that respect.

Batman. No one else comes close. He has spent years honing his skills to be able to take on some of the worst villains, and to simply clean up the crim ridden city in which he lives. By the very definition of a hero, Batman is the greatest.
