Do you think you should be disabled to get a disability check? Some Vets are claiming disability just to get a second retirement...
.. I have heard them coach each other on what to say to the doctor to get a rating...i.e. I have sleep apnea, hearing problems (subjective stuff which is hard to prove or disprove)
.. I am a nurse and deal with real disabled people, and feel like we need to get this under control.
...Congress is suggesting they put the Veterans Am. under the social security dept. I know citizens cannot abuse the system so maybe this will help the problem. ...
...yeah then maybe these "few" dishonorables will have to be scrutinized like everyone else. (60% of all civilians need an attorney to receive benefits and then it usually takes 2 years, and receive it after they have already lost everything!)

In 2004 Bushed signed this law into act. This allows career military to receive a disablity check, and their retirement check and still work full time... In theory, this is ok, but many 40 year old retirees are sitting around trying to think of and get some documentation they have a disability..
...This bill is met for "service" related disabldities, however, The VET Ad. is giving this to women who get a hysterectomy, ect. and in my opinion are not properly screening these candidates...
Since this bill we have doubled the amount of military checks going out,,,.;;;and it is not for our soldiers in the WAR!
