I do have to say it sucks, die-hard Braves fan for 16 years, first season I can remember was 1990 when they sucked something awful then 1991 when they made the World Series.

I honestly think that the Braves have gone downhill, not just to the fact of losing Leo but also Time Warner buying out the Braves from Ted Turner and keeping Schuerholtz on a very tight leash. They're treating the Braves like a business operation instead of a ball club, past 14 years the Braves have clawed their way into the national spotlight only to have a bunch of stodgy busines men destroy the reputation they built.

But, oh well, it was a great streak and no one will match it. All of these people that are bashing the Braves are probably disgruntled Mets and Phillies fans that for the past 14 years have been kicking dirt and now that the Braves lost a division title they're all over them.

Seriously, the Mets haven't won a World Series in 20 years, Phillies haven't done it in 26 years.

Only team that's dominated as much as the Braves in the past 10 or 15 years is the New York Yankees.

I am a Braves fan and have been for well over fifty years. However, I am not at all heartbroken because their incredible streak has ended. I don't think it will ever be equaled. Instead, I look forward to next year when all their young talent on the ball club and currently in the minors will blossom into a winner once again!!

Chow!!

Not heartbroken or anything.. all streaks come to and end sometime.

But many credited Bobby Cox's great coaching skills...

However, the Braves lost Leo Mazzoni..
This year their team ERA is 4.67.. only the Cubs, Brewers, Phillies, and Nationals are worse.
Last Year the Braves' team ERA was 3.98.

I would say the pitching was key in the Braves' success.

BUT.. maybe it wasn't just Mazzoni..
This year the Orioles have a team ERA of 5.33.. compared to 4.56 last year. But I still give Mazzoni credit.. The Orioles are in the heavy hitting AL.

It's building up to this for the past 3 years, after they let go of Maddux and Glavine you should have known the end of the era was near, I'm just glad it finally happened and that the Mets were the team to do this to team from the dirty south.

In fact i am happy as heck to see the braves NOT making the playoffs.

I hope they continue to MISS the playoffs for the next 14 years!!!

Braves.... one of the most overrated, boring teams in the past 15 seasons. So glad they are no longer in the playoffs.

I'm not heart broken, I hate the Braves. I do have the utmost respect for them though and the streak that they had.
