I have the same problem, except I'm allergic to all the antibiotics that they can give you for these things, so I always end up in the ER getting an IV antibiotic (so that if I have a reaction I'm already in the right spot). Other than that, I would just have to wait for a few months for it to finally clear up. Try talking to your doctor about ANY other methods you can use to help.

You're probably getting the ear infections due to drainage problems from the sinuses. You might want to consider sinus surgery to drain the sinuses.

Does your throat get infected too? That is actually connected to your ears. You could get your tonsils removed.

What is causing the sinus infection? It's usually allergies. If you try to treat the allergies, then you may be able to reduce the recurrence of the other problems.

Damn, I just went through that 2 months ago too

I had an infection in one ear, thought I'd wait a couple weeks, then I got one in the OTHER ear too. I wen to the doc, it was expensive. You should get some pennicillin or similar thing and some eardrops to kill the infection too. Keep it warm. Get a lot of sleep , reduce stress. Good luck. Maybe a clinic?

for the ear infection...
Put some olive oil in a bowl...not a lot...couple tablespoons. Chop up a couple cloves of garlic. Put it in the oil. Let it set for a minute for the garlic to infuse the oil. Put a couple of drops in the infected ear...you will ear sizzling and it might sting. Your infection will be gone by morning. My kids have NEVER been on anibiotics for ear infections.
Garlic is a natural antibiotic...it really works!

WHOOPS! - You say that you have already been on an ANTIBIOTIC regimen.
Latest recommendations heed the WAIT AND SEE technique before using any antibiotics.
Studies reveal to wait for two-three days time to let the body's natural defenses to control the infection.
Just take an ibuprofen tablet every time you cannot tolerate the inflamation (NOT to exceed 3 tabs every 18 hours!)

Use the more expensive medications like the ear drops, I had an ear infection so bad that it bled... I couldn't sleep or work; I also went to the clinic twice about the same infection and I finally had to step up the medication to get rid of it. If it goes away, use headphones and even cell phones as little as possible. 1 hour of their usage can multiply the bacteria in your ear by up to 700 times.

Go to a ENT doctor. It is possible you may need surgery to solve the problems. There is a new medicine out now for sinus infections. Whatever you are taking is obviously not working. Pops

You can try nasal irrigation, a very old technique practiced all over Asia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_irrigation

I have never heard of steroids being used for your problems. You may need another type of antibiotic or you haven't taken it long enough to cure the infections. talk to your Dr.
