Do you mean cash for gambling? Take no more than you can afford to lose. This may be $100 or $1000, depending on your situation.

Take additional cash if you plan to take a taxi anywhere.

Shows, meals, and many other things will accept credit cards.

Have Fun! : )

I was thinking $200-300, but that was with dropping a little at the casinos. Meals won't be too fabulously priced and rooms while not as cheap as they were will still fit on my card. There will need to be taxi and tips if you don't get the hotel shuttle, but the hotels and restaurants will need tip money too. I'll spend more money in tips than the casinos will snag, but room and board will still get the lion's share. I haven't priced the shows, though, they might be the real killer. Stay careful, don't put it all in one place, but have a lot of fun.

When I went to Atlantic city, I only took as much as I could afford to lose, which was $500.00..My transportation, food and lodging, were seperate. I had prepaid all my other expenses. I played the Black Jack tables, and I won about $100.00, so not bad, also went to a couple of shows, that were spectacular. Had a very good time, and came home with more money than I had when I left. Just don't go wild, have a good time, if you win, great, but do not go over the limit that you set for yourself..good luck..

If you just get there and walk around to see the view and do nothing else, then $100 would be enough. But if you want to see shows, try your luck at the slot machines or by the casino, then you need to bring with you at least $500. Enjoy your weekend and good luck .

Well...

Bring a set amount for you to gamble with per day.

If you want to go to a show, I'd recommend about $100 per show (the prices vary, depending on what you want to see).

I'd bring $10 for a multi-ride monorail ticket.

Then bring money to get to and from the strip. I think it was about $15 to take the shuttle to the strip. It was about $15 or $20 to take a cab back to the airport (I was staying at the Sahara).

Then bring money for souveniers and such.

Add up the values you like and you'll have your answer.

I live in Las Vegas and visiting friends always ask me how much mad money to bring. I tell everyone $500. This will allow you to see a good show and live it up a little. My feedback for this amount has been positive.

You sound like me as I don't gamble, seldom hit any slot machines and really don't have much desire to go to Vegas anyway. I would just tally up meals per day, a souvenior and that extra $100.

Never take any more than you're comfortable losing, and don't use credit/debit cards at the casino. Other than that, bring enough for a normal weekend anywhere else.

Take one roll of quarters per day to "gamble"....that's it. Take $10 a day for tips, like when they bring you a free drink at the machine(usually $1 a pop) or for housekeeping. Carry your own bags, pack light. Bring $40 a day for food and ask Everyone where the cheapest All-You-Can-Eat buffets are. Get to Entertainment, like dancing at Gilley's at the Frontier Before the Cover charge starts. You can also get an inexpensive meal there on some nights for $5.95 or $6.95. We did both. Ate great chicken dinner and no cover charge. Danced for 2 hours, had a couple beers. They post on their big sign out front. You can "crash" the Flamingo's awesome pool. Anyone can just walk in. Go through the Hotel with a wrap skirt around you and a towel in a bag. THEY don't even care. They figure you might stay there someday if you see the place. Bring a credit card or $30 in cash to pick out ONE keepsake of your trip. I suggest you try Jimmy Buffet's MargaritaLand on the same side of the street as the Imperial and the Flamingo. You'll feel happy just browsing in there. There are light shows, and such, every night Outside a lot of the places for free entertainment. And you can carry that margarita you didn't finish outside with you except on the bus. Taking the bus up & down the street is OK June-September. But when the weather is cooler and Vegas is busier, there are humongous traffic jams. It will take a couple of Hours to get from one end to the other. Carry your dancing shoes/boots and wear sneakers for walking instead. Sometimes we did a combination of walking/bus. A car isn't much help, so don't bother renting one. (unless it's July or August)take an airport shuttle to hotel. Ask your hotel about bus passes or discounts, otherwise it's not much and you can get them good for a few hours or for all day. I think $10 for 2 days??? can't remember. Someone gave us ours. Do share. if you don't use them up, give them away to someone. Take advantage of any Freebies you see. Bring a cooler? Use the room refrigerator/microwave? I guess if you're flying, it's harder to bring your own snacks, drinks, etc. Add it up. Food. You can really save money here.Drinking is cheapest if you're at a machine in casino. Just a $1 tip. Although, again, the Frontier has cheap $2 margarita specials at the bar on the main floor casino. Other places will have different specials at different times. Ask. A weekend=friday night to Sunday checkout(maybe a few hours of tooling around town?before you leave?)3 rolls of quarters. 7 meals. never throw out your leftovers if you have a frig in your room.In fact, grab Extra condiments for later. $30 for a momento. Buy something you can pack in luggage and will be useful. A T-shirt is fine IF you'll actually wear it. A coffee cup if you don't have many.Shop some of the other hotels besides the one you're staying in.I check Sales racks for any clothing items. If you forget something, like a bathing suit for the Hot Tub, you might want to buy one there and That will be your souvenir. Take pictures with YOU in them. There will be great backgrounds. Blow one up at Walgreens when you get back home. May be the Best souvenir.I take matchbooks everywhere for lighting my candles at home.Make a scrap book of napkins, etc.Ask for menu you can take. Sometimes even the soap packages or shampoo have the hotel name on it. Store it away and display it later at home in your bathroom. I don't "steal" towels, etc. personally, but sometimes they like you advertising For them? Other places will actually post in your room the Charges you will incur on your bill later if they find items missing. So, food, tips, bus, drinks(including bottled water), one momento. $160.00.Remember, the little in-hotel convenience stores charge $4.00 for a Trial size bottle of Conditioner. Pack your own, and any tylenol and light days pads, etc. in your suitcase. No liquids on airplanes in your purse now! Pack away in a plastic bag some perfume and pack in suitcase or they Will take it from you! Pack Gum in your Carry On since they won't let you bring even water! You won't get a drink until you're up in the Air for half an hour. If you get to go to that once-in-a-lifetime show, go for it. just no movies or eating out for a while when you get back, right? For us, the gambling is the Least of it. Oh yeah, the Imperial has free shows of Celebrity look-alikes like Shania Twain right in the middle of the casino there. Imperial hard to find because there's something else in front of it now. Some kind of Kaoroke bar(spelling?). It's only 2 or 3 hotels away from the Flamingo? You may find your own surprises. Heads up:The light show down on the old strip at 9PM is just another "patriotic" rip-off. Don't go all the way down there just for that. You'll like hanging around Caesar's Palace and that area better.
