Any good ideas for fun soccer related games to use during practice for an under 6 co-ed team? Trying to find them on the internet is like trying to drink fro a fire hose.

- Have the coaches stand on opposite ends of the field with their legs opening and closing. Have the kids try to kick it through one coaches leg, then the others. If they make it through, you have to make the sound of an animal they pick. The kids love this one.

-Minnows and Sharks: Have the kids all line up on one end of the field. These are the minnows. Have the coaches stand in the middle of the field. The minnows have to make it to the other end of the field with their ball. If the sharks take their ball, the minnow becomes a shark. (Alternative is crabs: The coaches have to sit on their bumms and walk around on the hand and feet and do the same)

-Form a circle with cones or anything. Have the kids go around the circle using only the inside of one foot. Then have them change feet. Then have them kick on the outside of the foot. etc..

ALWAYS HAVE FUN!!

1.) set up 2 rows of cones (6-7 cones about 8 feet apart)and separate the team into 2 squads. Have them do a sort of relay race that has them dribble up and then back making a pass to the next person in line who then dribbles up and back and makes a pass...it's a race between the 2 teams...losers take a lap.

2.) Put a goalie in net...now form 2 lines at the 18 yard line....throw a soccer ball over both players heads...they have to win it and score on goal...again it's a race to see who scores more....losers take a lap....also good to put your offense and defense on different teams for this.

3.) Set players in 2 rows about 15 feet apart...have them try to make 10 consecutive passes....now is a good time to show proper passing technique with the side of the foot.

4.) another good drill is have 2 players come down field and challenge 1 defender and try to score...again with goalie in net.

Hope these help.

Both of my sons play...they play this game at practice kinda like tag.....it starts by the coach and some parents kicking soccer balls at the boys (not hard) as they run thru a section about 12 feet wide....if a ball hits one of the kids they join the parents and coach kicking the balls...it continues until only 1 child is left....our teams love playing this....
