Are you trying to identify the brand and model number of your CD/DVD-ROM unit within your computer? If so follow this:

Click on Start at the bottom left of your screen; select Control Panel; double-click on System; Click on the Hardware Tab; Select Device Manager, and then in the window that opens click on the + sign next to where it says DVD/CD-ROM drives.

This will tell you the brand and model number. If you need to download a hardware flash upgrade you can check the manufacturer's website. However, you don't sound as though you're that familiar with your computer. I'd advise you not to attempt flashing your drive 'cos if you get it wrong, you won't be able to use it again.
