where you can get pieces of paper and put it into play station and you can be the character that you draw, and what you want them to say?

(this is a question from my daughter, who is off to bed. She wants to see how many replies she gets by tomorrow) Thanx in advance.

OK, I bet you won't believe this, but it's true. I actually work for PlayStation (Sony) and - sorry to give your little girl the bad news - but it's not happening any time soon... But there are games where she can appear in the TV screen, as I'm sure you know. They're EyeToy games. They're lots of fun!

Sorry m8 it is not possible but the game that i think comes the closest to that is the RPG maker games. In RPG maker games you build your own levels, choose your own characters from a massive list, write your own storyline, choose which character says what and loads more cool stuff. I have both RPG maker 2 and 3 for the ps2 and they are both really cool.

RPG maker games are NTSC only so you will need one of the following 3 things in order to play them:

1) Swap Magic Slide Tool - Software that fools the machine into thinking its a PAL game

2) Mod chip - NOT recommended will shorten the ps2's life

3) NTSC PS2 - PS2 imported from America

I have an NTSC ps2 but the swap magic software is the cheapest option out of the 3. You can buy it from places like ebay.

Also here is a site where u can get RPG maker 2 and 3 plus loads of other import games for cheap.

Hope this helps

Your daughter has a WONDERFUL imagination. You should really be proud of her!

The day is coming where something like that might be possible, but it may be a while.

I would encourage your daughter to take computer programming classes in high school and maybe major in it once she gets to college. Maybe SHE can be the programmer who can figure out how to do that! In the meantime she should really study math and art, that will help her down the line!

Congratulations on having such a bright daughter! Hopefully, one day she can help make her dream a reality for gamers everywhere!!

Seriously, it's that kind of imagination and innovation that the game industry needs.

And I'm sure that it's possible - in the same way you can put your face in certain games by matching points such as eyes, mouth corners, if you could do that to a picture you drew, simple 2D games would be able to use that easily - and with some skill on the programmers part, i could even progress further

Great Idea!

Cor , that would be a really good concept for part of a game, to draw a character and actually be that character in a game.

Your daughter is a genius of tomorrow.
If she keeps coming up with ideas like that you should write them down for future reference, and sort of patent it.

This is impossible because the character you draw has to be animated to be able to move around in the game. Otherwise you'd just be a still picture of your drawing moving around on the screen with no animations at all. It would also be impossible for the console to automatically animate your picture as well. If that ever happens we won't see it for a LONG LONG time.

Currently not possible in a Playstation, but if you had a scanner and Macromedia Flash you could probably make a simple game/animation on your computer using that exact idea.

Never. Designing the characters for a game is excessively difficult, and can take months to complete.

A two-dimensional image will never convert to a playable character in a video game.

I have no idea but tell your daughter that this is a really good idea. My son thinks it's fab and wishes he'd thought of it.
