The normal sleeping time for human being is 7-8 hours to regenerate energy to a full level. The best time to go to sleep is 9-10 p.m., but honestly, I'm sleepin from 7 p.m till 3 a.m., because of my job and a lifestyle.

Go to bed when you're tired, but avoid drinking tea or coffee for at least 2 hours before whenever you'd normally hit the sack.
Make sure your bedroom is at the same temperature as the rest of the house, and a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow will help you relax.
Close your curtains to cut down light.
Hope it helps.

It all depends on your work/school schedule I suppose.
Ideally it's best to get at least 8 hours of sleep, although when you are studying, you need more ..and also more food ..not necessarily junk food , but good snacks every couple of hours, your brain uses a load of calories up just "Thinking" and you need to keep feeding it while you are studying (I learnt that in a course once) :-)
