Do you mean the federal minimum wage in the USA?
If so:
"Washington Citizen Action has been involved in three campaigns to raise the minimum wage, in 1988, 1993, and 1998. In 1988, the minimum wage was raised from $2.30 an hour to $3.85 in 1989 and to $4.25 an hour in 1990. HB 1393 raised the minimum wage to $4.90 an hour in 1993. For the next five years our state minimum wage languished at $4.90 as the wage in Oregon and California leapfrogged our state."

1988, think it was still $3.75, that was right about the time the minimum wage changed to $4.25

As I recall, it was $3.35 per hour. I had my first job that year, and that was what I was getting (since it was a crappy job, I'm reasonably confident that it wasn't paying anything more than the bare minimum allowed by law).
