i watched the movie maybe 5 times, an i found it accurate in terms of relationships and how human acts, so accurate. others thought it's as any other movie discusses relations. what do you think?

I think the movie's accurate in terms of the basic, ordinary coupling relationships which are based upon a lot on control and manipulation.

One issue I've gleamed from the film is that the players don't really understand themselves and what they need from others. For them, love really is an illusion because they only really care about themselves and what they can keep for themselves. In the face of that actual m.o., all kinds of expectations are thrown out with love as a token or even faux ideal that's never really actualized by anyone.

I thought it was a very interesting movie, but i think the downward spiral and eventual rise again of Natalie Portman's character was a bit over the top. Some of her character's actions (like the employment at the strip club, as a means of "getting away from it all") was just wacky.
With respect to Julia Roberts' having cheated and all, i think thats about as accurate to real life misgivings in relationships as it comes (so to speak).

It was very well acted. I also felt that it was pretty accurate in terms of the ways some people act in real life. But overall it was just too weird, to incestuous with all the nigh-swapping going on. So it's not on my favorites list.

I tried to like it, but didn't work!
The movie was real in many parts but the way the presented love was too quick. I mean, you just don't forget that quickly someone you love.
It looked like men are that vain, and you never see the mourning when love is lost .
Although I liked the idea that nobody got what they wanted because a lot of times it does work out that way.
