When you go on that main page of Windows XP, and you know how you can create as many different users as are going to be using the computer? Would each of those show up with a different IP address on websites for some reason?? Maybe it's b/c I'm using AOL & Internet Explorer, but it seems like sites I've gone to where they record your IP, for example, if I re-visit them under one of the other Windows XP "user" names, they don't recognize me. What's the deal with IP addresses? Is it the Windows XP system, or just AOL / Internet Explorer??

IP adress remains the same. It has to do with the netwok card MAC number. So if you change the ethernet card the IP changes. However if you switch of the DSL/Broadband modem on and off then you get a new IP number unless you have opted for a fixed IP adress from the service provider.

No, the IP address is tied to the MAC address of your network equipment not to users!
