i heard i can fix it in an apple store but do i have to pay for it?

If is under the year warranty , you don't have to pay for it. go to apple.com/support and they'll tell you wheter you have to fix it or send it to them In case you have to send it, they send you an empty box for the ipod so you send it out. They tell you if the warranty covers it or if you have to pay for it. If you don't want to pay for it, they send itr back to you and you get a broken Ipod who travel the states without payin' a penny.
