If I could recommend 1 book I would recommend Sleeping Freshman Never Lie by David Lubar. his is an excellent book about a teenager who's life is turned upside down when he enters High School. Mr Lubar is a wonderful author.

I highly recommend this book. I've loaned it to all my friends and each one has loved it. Good Luck and happy reading!

I'm in 9th too.

PS I also recommend:
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson
It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
Hidden Talents by David Lubar

I have never read The Uglies so I can't help you there. For a 9th grader I would suggest some of the classics. Anything by Charles Dickens would be great.

King Fortis the Brave - a pair of twins are pulled into a magical world where they are caught up in a battle for control of the land. Full of adventure and humor, it's one of the best books I've ever read.

No, I haven't. The Catcher in the Rye is a pretty good book for a freshman....try to read classics, especially if you are going into honors english or advanced english.

No, haven't read that.

Try online literature. There are lots of books there, and I've read a lot of them.

I like Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens and am now reading Thomas Hardy.

artemis fowl books by eoin colfer are the BEST! and not to mention addicting.
don't limit yourself as a nineth grader to what every other freshmen reads. try college level books. you'd be suprised how much of a better read they are. catch-22 is good (i'm reading it now) and siddhartha is also an excellent book to read by hermann hesse.
