There are several compression programs out there that can handle .ZIP files, as well as other compression formats.
I have provided you with some links below.
7zip is available for free, the other two are shareware.

Windows XP has a built in Zip feature. Just select the file(s) you want to zip and then right click them and select Send To-->Compressed Folder

You can go to www.microsoft.com and download a free version on WinZip. To zip (compress) a file or entire folder, simply open WinZip and choose the files or folders that you want to compress and WinZip will do it for you, using a lot less space than without the compression. It allows you to combine many files into one compressed zip file which will not only save space, but allow you to send it in a lot less time. Larry.

Mine is under File, Send to...zip, or compress file.
