Cannabis is a depressant.

If I were you I'd take the weed out and just smoke the nicotine which is a stimulant, and is proved to help balance peoples moods.

Also a nice cup of tea should help bring you up - although as an Englishman I am terribly biased.

Edit: I just read what "shy guy" wrote, shucks what a lovely fella.

It will lift your mood temporarily then when it wears off you'll be back to being depressed again. Why don't you try hanging out with Friends or seeing a funny movie or even exercise works for some people.

it will make you think you feel beter but in truth its just hiding the true problem. I USE! I have for 25 years. I stoped about 6 months ago, due to advise from my shrink. he stated that we use to cover up other feelings.(like feeling "very sad"). Again, I smoked for 25 yrs. I feel much better now that I dont. It's hard as heck to quit! Every one I know smokes. I like to smoke so how do you quit? You need to fill the not smoking space with somthing else. Try to not smoke. find non user friends. Good luck! Works differently for everyone, you might find that it pushes everything that you were thinking about further away, you might find that you sit and dwell on it.

Go sit in front of the TV first, at least you'll have something to be easily distracted by ;o)

It will temporarily lift your mood, but when you come off of it your depression will be worse. Drugs always make it worse. Will really screw with your Serotonin....which is your body's natural anti-depressant.

Enough of them will make you tired enough to fall asleep, although a dozen or so shots of bourbon does the trick much quicker.
