Well, all of the commercials you watch between each show and on every commercial brake costs money. The company that advertises on each network pays them pretty big bucks for airtime. The more expected viewers during a show, the more they must pay to show their product.
Example, when Friends got big, NBC was paying them each over 1 mil an episode, if a corporation wanted to show their product during the time Friend aired, they had to pay an arm and a leg to get shown.

Because hit shows generate big advertising dollars from the commercials. A really popular show can charge a ton of money to advertisers to air their commercials in that time slot.

Because sponsors sell there products on TV. And people like you see them and run out and buy it! They tell you how to look, dress, what makeup to wear, what car you should be driving, and even what to eat! Television is definitely not free!

U must get free tv lol cause I dont. There's this thing called a bill at the end of each month unless u dont know about that and u dont pay bills. then i could understand y u dont know

Is television free? Then how come I pay $85.00 per month? They get paid to endorse products, movies etc. If you want to get noticed or a product noticed, who better to advertise it with?
