Popping zits isn't really a good idea. It leaves a scar. I have a bunch of little marks on my face from zits- not good. I try not to pop a zit unless it's a REALLY big whitehead and I want to minimize it to go to school or whatever. But popping it doesn't actually make it go away faster. What happens a lot when you pop it is that it starts to bleed. If this happens, acne medication will only irritate it. Instead, clean it and put some antibacterial cream on it like bacitracin.
A better way to get rit of pimples is to wash your face several times a day (i do once in the morning when i wake up, once before i go to bed at night, and once when i get home from school), using not just plain soap. Soaps aren't that effective and some (like dove) actually make your face greasier, causing zits. I use clean and clear's make up removing cleanser and this cleanser/mask thing that I think is by Neutrogena. I don't necessarily know that these are the best out there, but they work for me. Just browse your drugstore's soap/cleanser aisle for stuff and read the packages, really most of them are good. The only brand I hate is clearasil. It never worked for me.
Anyway, after washing your face, you could use an extra acne medicine for your entire face, like Oxy deep pore cleanser pads. But I usually only use them after I use the makeup removing cleanser, and not the cleanser/mask, because the cleanser/mask combined with the Oxy is too harsh. You don't want to dry out your skin either.
Finally, you can use spot treatment for individual zits. I like the clean and clear one, it comes in a small tube. The clearasil one is bad in my opinion.
Then you might want to moisturize. Use an oil-free moisturizer that doesn't make you break out. The one I use is called Vaseline Aloe Clean and Fresh. It comes in a light green bottle. The reason it's good is because it has aloe in it. Far as I know, no scientists have proven it, but from my personal experience, Aloe is a miracle worker for acne. When I started using the cream, it definitely reduced the number of zits on my face. Aloe heals everything- sunburns, etc. and zits is one of those things. :)
So this is what's worked for me. They're all cheap things you can get in the drugstore, but if you want, you can get a higher-end product. I've never actually tried it myself, but the ones that I've heard are good are from Benefit. Each thing is about 15-20 dollars, and there's even some cream that's supposed to get rid of zits overnight.
Obviously, none of these things work immediately, you always have to wait. The only thing that's faster is going to the doctor and getting some sort of shot or something that sort of kills the pimple and eliminates it pretty fast- like in an hour or something. I've never done this either, but I've heard it's perfectly safe and it works. you can ask your doctor about that. It's obviously impractical to do that very often, though, but before special events like prom or something you could.
One more tip: holding an ice cube on zits makes them less red. That's kind of irrelevant to your question but I just think it's kind of cool. :)
Hope I helped.

Don't pop it! You may leave a scar and your fingers have oil on them so the more you touch your face, the worse it is. Try toothpaste. Dab a little on at tnight before bed and in the morning that thing will be flat! You can't use the gel kind though, has to be the paste. I even think the white works better than the blue paste.

These answers are very crude. The way to get rid of a pimple is to put some antibiotic cream on it at night or whenever you can. (It's a little shiny so you might not want to put it on during the day). The antibiotic cream will eliminate it in a couple days.

I tried this thing that my friend told me about and it worked for me. I have no pimples. OK..Wet your face with water and then get lots of soup on your hands. Pour some sugar into your hand just enough so you can feel the sugar. Massage your face with the soap and sugar.Let it sit for maybe a minute or two and then wash your face. Try it .It works for me and every time I get a pimple i wash my face and then the next day its gone!!!

Just leave it alone, if you pop it you run the risk of leaving a scar, I would rather have a red dot on my face for a few days as opposed to a scar for the rest of my life. Just put a little make up on it just to reduce the redness. But I've heard that "Preparation H" helps with the swelling of it. If you want to try to treat it.

I have found a wonderful, wonderful face wash that really works! It''s Mary Kay's "Velocity". It's kind of expensive, but it's awesome! It will clear your face up in only a couple of days.
