My school doesn't offer women's studies, and the atosphere is very... stiffling. My history professor jokes about women's rights and sexuality. I can't take this. Instead of constantly arguieng with people, accomplishing NOTHING, I would love to have conversations. I don't know why I pay these people for biased education. I would really appriciate input =)

Yale. University of Michigan. University of Chicago. University of Wisconsin. Vassar. Barnard. Smith. Bryn Mawr. Mount Holyoke.
And many more. There are powerhouse women's studies programs in many state universities, as well as private ones.

I am frankly shocked that your college does not have a women's studies department or program. I really wonder what sort of school would neglect the study of half of the people of the world. I also wonder what sort of institution would keep a professor like that on staff. (Even tenure can be revoked for many reasons, including demonstrated incompetence.)

Do yourself (and other women at your college) a favor, and see the history department chair. This professor could use a good talking-to.

First of all, tell your professor that his slurs about women and sexuality is making you angry and uncomfortable. God gave us just as wonderful brains and the neanderthal male who tries to teach you. Next, if he is to dumb to comprehend this go to another school and study Women's Health such as obgyn. I feel safer with a woman than a man. A male obgyn once told me that I was not really in pain with my second child and I knew darn well I was. Later, she was delivered by C-section in distress from the cord around her neck.
I wanted him to go through pregnancy all on his own.
