If you are not 30 years old yet, please tell me how much you think you would have at the age of 30. And If you are above 30 years old, give me an idea as to how much you had when you were 30.

The average 30 year old in America has less than 10000 saved for retirement. I had less too.

That's not counted since people often share accounts, especially if they are married. I would keep 6 months expenses in the bank. I spend about $22,000 on expenses a year so that would make it about $11,000 is what I should have in the bank. That money should only be touched in case of an emergency, such as while looking for a job after getting laid off, getting transplanted because of a natural disaster etc. The low limit is 3 month which make it about $5,500 in the bank for me.

Im 21 right now, but If I play my cards right I should have maybe $10,000 saved up. I could have more saved up if I didnt have to pay back school loans.
