Canada is great place to live and work, the education is better, the taxes and pay may be higher than in the US but at least you do not have to pay for health care, it's cleaner, safer and citizens are more open minded about foreigners.

Yes, it's safe to live here (as safe as anywhere can be I guess). If you're planning to live in Newfoundland, as beautiful as the place is, it has one of the highest (if not the highest) level of unemployment of all Canadian provinces. Personally that wouldn't be the first place I'd pick to live in Canada.

Pay depends on what industry you're working in - construction is doing well, but if you want a good chance at getting a job, good pay, while getting a decent education I would suggest Alberta.

I do not know where are you from. Really this does not matter. I think Canada is OK, but US is a lot better place to live in. Canada has low salary levels and more expensive to live in as compared to states. My choice would be US first.

It is expensive for foreign students to go to schol here. NFLD is safe and beautiful.
