CAN I GET AN AMEN

2006-09-13 08:43:29 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 3 0

~ Emphatically No! That would be addressing The Symptom and not The Source. The parents need an 'education' in child rearing,,, and an authority figure like the Nanny to give them an objective and knowledgeable appraisal,,, and thus a foundation from which to build upon, since they are so subjectively immersed in an environment of their own creation. They can't see their own Forest of Problems because of the many Trees of Ignorance they've planted in their Family Garden.,,, And anyway we all know that Violence Begets Violence as a "good old fashioned butt whoopin' ." will only serve to "teach" the kid that violence is a viable alternative to Problem Solving.

actually I think it is the parents that need the butt whoopin'!

I was a business manager for a child psychologist...at times it was more about training the parents than anything to do with the kids...one time though...he came out of his office after a consult had left and he said, "All that child needed was a good slap on the butt!"

I would normally say no because I dont believe in butt whoopin kids, but since it is a show, then yes because they are bad. and expect to get away with whatever they want. Even the oldest one.

a lot of those parents do give butt whoopin's and they still act up. The parents are just inconsistent is the problem, real wishy washy on their discipline practices (or lack there of). If they were just consistent that wouldn't have a bunch of wild animals for children.

It really all boils down to the parents and the fact that they let the kids get away with acting like little monsters. They should have nipped that in the bud when they were infants.

Probably, however that may only dampen the immediate behaviour. With (re-) training the parents on better ways to handle their kids, fewer problems can be expected in the future
