myself

honestly I have many female icons, not that I worship them, but I do look up to them.
Mother Theresa, for her giving passion
Tippy Hedron for her care of animals
Princess Dianna & Audrey Hepburn, for their compassion for children.
Eleanor Roosevelt, Elizabeth Cady Staton and hundreds of thousands of other women who have come before me!

My grandmother La She got her High School GED at age 87. She read a book every day, 2 daily newspapers and 3-4 weekly newspapers. Best educated woman I knew. Even compared with my college professors. Taught me the value of education, that you are never too old to learn and hard work pays off in the long run.

Jami Sommers (The Bionic Woman)...don't laugh. The character was amazing. Jami had been through hell, lost her parents at a very young age, died and was brought back to life, and lost her one true love. And through all of this she came out the other end of this trauma stronger, and I don't mean just physically. She was humble, kind, honest and continued to press on into the future. I admired her for natural beauty, love of animals, kids and nature...I still love the show to this day....I know it seems out dated by today's standards. I had my 9 year old son watch it with me and to my surprise he loves it as well....probably more for the super hero aspect of it.

This may sound corny but that character had a very positive influence on me. I just love Jami. I can't help it!

Sylvia Plath
She was an amazing poet, it's my dream to become as polished with words as she was.
Even though she suffered from major depression and committed suicide, I think she was an amazing person by reading biographies of her and her poetry alone tells an amazing story.
I think it's strange how alot of her poems tell her age, 30... the year she killed herself.

Gertrude Stein. She made me realize that homosexuality shouldn't be hidden because it's been around long before even her time. I already knew that, but it was a sort of actually realizing it.
