After she discovers that her boyfriend has betrayed her, Hilary O'Neil is looking for a new start and a new job. She begins to work as a private nurse for a young man suffering from blood cancer. Slowly, they fall in love, but they always know their love cannot last because he is destined to die.

It is a very sad movie. But very good. The descriptions above are correct. If you don't mind a tear jerker now and I again I do recommend this one.

it's pretty sad.. a lot of missed opportunity because he is dying, and is very young and handsome, and julia roberts is a young nurse he falls in love w/...... they try to live for NOW, have as much happiness as possible, but it is hard because impending "doom" of his sickness.

Dude's got cancer, chick comes to help him, they fall in love, he quits his meds so she can see him with hair, she gets pissed, he gets sicker, they decide to be together until he dies.
Its really sad that I know this.
