If it's a Nextel or Boost, just call customer service they charge $10 to re-activate a sim card. You will end up with a new phone number.

Normal practise is to bar sim cards that have not been used for some time. They usually cannot be re-instated.

There are many companies offering free sims, so why not take advantage.

u mite not be able to do that some mobile companys give that number to someone else

i rang my first ever mobile number from 6 years ago and a man answered. it was well scary!
