good for you about the christian and Christmas issue.

does your area have a dollar store. everything a dollar type. look around there for a while and think of how the employees decorate their offices or their desks. make notes of what you see see in their spaces. that will help as you look. at dollar stores you may be see more than 1 item that can go together like a Set. (candles with candle sticks etc.) you can used the same direction in a family dollar or dollar general, biglots also. if they like certain scented items for their office make a not of that before you shop. sometimes you can find really cute decorated cans in these places and do the cookie thing with them. if you know they like to doodle at their desk when they are bored(i know real estate people who do that) get them some cute notepads. if you know a jokester see ways to get that person to laugh. if they are very religious get them an inspirational message for their office. there are really low prices ones at any local bible bookstore. now when you purchase theses and the Christmas paper isn't out yet, get sandwich bags to separate and name them. if bigger than a sandwich bag use the bag you got from the shop. now if you want to go ahead and get bags for the presents silver and gold colored bags are usually out all year round.

Merry Christmas! :) I agree with you!

As for gifts.. that is very generous of you to want to buy Christmas gifts for everyone in your office! Not many people do that these days. Heck, not many people send Christmas cards anymore!

A suggestion... if you are in the US and have a Linens N Things nearby... watch your mailbox for LNT coupons ($5 off $15 purchase). When you get them (and they will take expired ones too!), go to Linens N Things and pick up the Christmas gift box of 3.7oz Yankee Candles. There are 3 per pack and they are $15.00 - $5.00 coupon. That comes out to only $3.33 per candle! They sell in the retail Yankee stores for close to $10 each. Put it in a nice gift bag with some individual cocoas or something like that. You could do that for about $5-$6 per person. Give it to the ladies in the office. Not to be shovanistic, but men don't get too excited about candles.

For the men in the office,... a travel mug (real estate agents are always on the go, right?) with some dunkin donuts mini coffee ground packages.

With 30 people and a budget to work with, you can't expect to get them lavish gifts and honestly, I can't see that your co-workers would even EXPECT gifts! So any sweet gesture would be most appreciated by them.

"i will NEVER be careful when saying Christmas, I'M a CHRISTIAN, i can say it whenever i want!"

Not to be rude or picky here but wouldn't a true Christian do everything to make others happy and feel included? Seems to me that if Jesus was around on Earth, he'd try to make others smile with a 'Happy Holidays' rather than be stubborn about something like words. Be a Christian with your actions first.

If you're buying for 30 people try buying something wholesale. Get a discount on price for buying more items. Candles are good, so are any type of holiday decoration. Homeade cookies/candies/brownies are always so loved at Christmas. Homeade goodies can be cheap too, I know someone that does chocolate covered pretzel rods. They're SO yummy and she buys cute wrappers to put them in (organza, I think?) Bonus to that idea is you can make them with family and spend time with your loved ones while getting the pressies for your coworkers out of the way. Good for you getting an early start on this, I'll be jealous when I can't think of any Christmas gifts for people come Dec. 20th!!!

*EDIT*
"I mean it is CHRISTmas for crying out loud"
So what would Christ do? I'm just saying that IMO He would include everyone in His well wishes, not just those who elebrate one holiday.
Sorry if I offended you though, just trying to make a point.

Packets of gourmet hot chocolate. Even "gourmet" will be cheap when you're talking hot chocolate.

Simple ornaments are good.

I think the one poster was a little off to say "be careful" saying Christmas. Most Americans celebrate some form of Christmas (religious or secular). However, I feel it is simply a polite catch-all to say Happy Holidays. Plus, it also covers New Years. It came off a bit rude your saying you refuse to acknowledge the sacred or special holidays of others.

I like to get people a chocolate or candy gift. You can get a luxurious type that they would not normally buy but in a small sample size or single bar. Also, some years I have found Christmas themed coffee mugs for around a dollar each at the Drug Store. You can even put a packet of fancy coffee in them or a hot chocolate packet or special tea if you know the persons preference.

Why don't yo do a secret santa, where you all put your names into a bowl then everyone picks out a name and you all have to buy some thing for that person, you have to agree on a certain amount. We do this at work and have such a laugh at some of the gifts that people buy. But remember to keep it a secret and don't tell who you have all gifts go into a santa sack and someone gives them out.

well why dont you get everyone together and suggest that you all do a secret santa.
if you dont know what this is, put everyones name in a hat, and all draw out a name, keeping it a secret (obviously) then set a limit...........say £5 or £10 or whatever you think is resonable amaount. and then everybody buy a gift for that amaount for their chosen name.
then all get together at the same time and open then. each person gets a gift of equal value and no body feels awkward. its great fun also as there is always some joker who buys rude naugty things........ite fun. we do it here at work. try it.

Make jars with the dry aspects for cookies or soups in them, then beautify with somewhat bow and a recipe card so they comprehend a thank you to make what's interior! Or, you should circulate to the close by dollar keep. a number of them have great stuff and you may p.c.. out a particular present for each individual without spending loads of money.
