They sterotyped every possible walk of life other than black. Were they afraid a black Smurf would hit on Smurfette too much?

You are not a true fan of the smurfs or you would not have forgotten about Ghetto Smurf and Bling Bling Smurf.
You don't see them much because they are in Jail for robbing
Gargamels fortune. They wouldn't have gotten caught but the Boom Box was kicking way too loud.

Smurfette was the town whore it's not like 1 more Smurf would make a difference. Besides what makes not stereotyping - racist?

The Smurfs--apart from being silly(sometimes)--don't seem to personify a racist attitude at all. As to the character's creations, you'd have to ask Peyo, the artist(he's from Belgium, I think) about that.
I always did think it weird, though that therewas only one girl Smurf, Smurfette--and why ever is she wearing heels??Ha ha ha!
Silly, silly...

I dont remember seeing any white Smurfs. Cant black people be bakers and carpenters and brainy types and girls with long flowing blond hair and all the other vocations the Smurfs specialized in. Unless your implying black people dont live in mushrooms. Black people are just as Smurfy as everyone else.
I would say its women that weren't especially well represented.

La la lalaa la laaaaa.
