Who decides?
And remember that the monarchy is getting less and less wanted.

It needs to addressed as the Scots, Welsh and some parts of Northern Ireland have their own national Anthem. It seems ludicrous for the English to sing the present National Anthem whilst hoisting the cross of St George.

There is a website where you sign a petition to get it changed. In reality though I doubt whether it will come to pass.

I would prefer Land of Hope and Glory written by Sir Edward Elgar and not some tune written by a foreign composer some years ago.

Where do you get your stupid little ideas from ? your presumption regarding the Monarchy is getting "Less Wanted" indicates that you are totally ill informed and bloody stupid. The British People by a vast majority Love and Honour our Monarchy and do not want the National Anthem changed . Try going into a Pub at night and spouting your opinion , you will find serious reasons to adjust you opinion

I like the idea of a new national anthem:

I definately agree that "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" should in the running but so should:

"Things Can Only Get Better"
"Let it Be"
"Unchained Melody"
"Touch my Bum"

I'm sure we should probably add:

"My Achy Breaky Heart"

to the list. Perhaps a vote is should now take place here.

OF WHICH COUNTRY ?

Personally, I'd change the US anthem to God Bless America & the British anthem to Land of Hope & Glory. I'm a tenor/bass with limited range and I can actually sing both these tunes.

Do you think Irving Berlin & Edward Elgar colaborated - it's amazing how similar the tunes are. Seriously though - I wonder if they did ever meet.

Congress would be the people to bother about that.
They made "The Star Spangeled Banner" the national anthem in 1937, so they can change it to something else.

I would vote for Purple Haze myself.
Just to see Bush play it on the guitar.

You must be talking about Britain's national anthem. I think you should keep the one you have for awhile. People can't count on much in this world staying the same. Sometimes the traditions are all they have to hang onto.

a few years back they did a survey and the majority of people wanted Jerusalem by William Blake as the new national anthem.

The anthem sounds so dull & boring. I reckon the theme from The Archers would be good???? Dont hold your breath I dont think it would ever get changed
