That is just horrific! Imagine if we were more civilized like the terrorists (whose actions I've yet to see the same public outrage against) we'd only be sawing off their heads and mutilating their corpses! So they're a little chilly and have to listen to bad music.........so what!

The only problem with that is the whipping.

The CIA interrogation manual [declassified] clearly states that torture through pain is completely ineffective as an interrogation technique. The subject will eventually tell you anything that they think you wish to hear, and that information will be useless.

Sensory deprivation and discomfort - through stripping of the clothing, cold room, blindfolding, white noise [or in this case the chili peppers played loudly,] sleep deprivation and drugs all focus on producing a disorientation that is highly effective in extracting accurate information.

Electric shock is in the CIA manual, but considered a last resort, and only when you KNOW the subject has information you need confirmed. It stipulates that the shock should be low-current, so as not to actually damage the subject. Blindfolds are to be removed during shocking, since it's primary purpose is psychological. You want the subject to THINK about getting shocked. The light shock is not supposed to inflict anything real other than slight discomfort. It's the sparks and the seriousness of the environment that does the work.

Interrogation is [supposed to be] ENTIRELY psychological. Anything resembling real physical torture is not only against the Geneva Convention, but completely detrimental to getting any reliable information, and therefore useless.

You added the whip them with a stick.
Your question is flawed from your lie
Try again and leave out your anti-anything America lies
Yes I heard, but you seem to have heard different.
were you told this by voices in your head?
too much kool-aid seek help for the voices

Yes. And they do far worse things than that. Your government wants to legalize torture. You could be next.

If the government decides to call you a terrorist that's enough to exclude you from protection under your previous constitutional rights. Basically a terrorist is anyone that George Bush wants them to be. Best hope he keeps his sanity.

As some wag pointed out - Nero elected his horse to the Senate but the Americans went one better and voted Bush junior to be President. We're in real trouble folks. : ( As much as we love America and wish it well we should not be supporting a human rights abusing, law breaking and lying fascist - particularly when they are undermining our constitution.

If AIR AMERICA says it, it must be true... but I'm not sure why you would add "whip them with a switch" when the original story didn't say that... agenda?
