He looks unstoppable. I like him and I'm a Democrat. Hillary I don't think can win because that will mean putting Bill back in the White House. There are other Democrats I like more than McCain but I don't see them winning.

Edwards would be a good candidate to run against McCain. (I'm not saying he'd win, just a good match up). But nobody else comes close. Hillary wouldn't even make the end of the primaries, there are too many issues that her fellow democrats would raise to scuttel her chances of getting the nomination. If Hillary somehow wins the nomination, McCain, or any other Republican wins, hands down.

I wish he had won in 2000 instead of bush, this country would be in such a better place right now. Unfortunately in the recent years he has moved away from the center towards the right. In 2000 he was a republican but he played by his own rules, if something made sense but was a democratic idea, he went with it. He seems to have caved to the religious right and lost the voice of reason. I too am democrat, and I"m not sure he can win now that he isn't as seperated from the Bush crowd as he was. A republican that sides strongly with Bush will have a real hard time winning the election, assuming there is a worthwhile democratic candidate. Either party, I'm just ready for someone to get something done.

He does look unstoppable. But here are a few things to look at

1. The base does not care for the man. I'm a conservative, but would not vote for him in the primary. I will only vote for him if he gets the nomination.

2. Kennedy was the last sitting Senator to be elected. They just don't win. So look at the governors. I have become a Mitt Romney fan. For the Democrats, do not count out Mark Warner. Both men will be without jobs for the next 18-24 months leading up to the election and have plenty of time to campaign in Iowa and New Hamsphire. This country, for whatever reason, loves to elect governors (ie Carter, Reagan, Clinton, GW Bush)

McCain is too moderate and middle-of-the-road for conservatives. Conservatives want someone like them that is out of the mainstream.

As a Liberal Democrat though, I think he is cool. My opinion of him dips slightly though when McCain gets partisan in election years.
