forget about san fran cause it's too expensive, try down in la, here it 's an average of about $900 a month for a 1 bdroom apt, and maybe about $200 or so more for bills
anybody paying $800 for a room is crazy, you just gotta know where to look, like in Hawthorne or Inglewood areas...LA is big and there are alot of places you can look for less expensive living.

I have always loved San Francisco better than LA. LA is over rated, very crowded, you absolutelu have got to own a car and very very expensive. To live in a decent rented apartment you are looking at at least $2000 per month and that is bare minimum.

Go to an online apartment finding network and look around. A good idea is to share if you want a nicer place but then you will have to deal with a room mate or 2?

The average rent for an apartment in Orange County is about $1,200 (if you want to live beach-side, it's more).

Average rent in Santa Monica is $1,800.

Los Angeles: $1,200

Are you sure you want to come here? It's really crowded.

I just moved to Santa Monica and yes, it is expensive. Most people have roommates and I am paying about $800 for a room.
