It is first mentioned in the New Testament (Act 4:36) as the native place ... He was the son of Cambyses, the prince of Persia, and was born about 599 BC

Daniel 10:20, since the prince of Persia, and the prince of Greece are mentioned in connection with Michael the archangel, they are demons who are backing the world rulers.
Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the earth for one act of worship.
Why could he do this, 2 Cor 4:4, describes Satan as the god of this system of things.
Eph 2:2, Satan is described as the ruler of the authority of the air
Rev. 12:1-4 Satan gives power and throne and great authority to beasts
