asked a question on who would win a game of football between the team i support and another team and i would give 10pts to the correct answer, then Yahoo sent me a violation e-mail apparantly because i was encouraging gambling.(mad or what). Does anyone think Yahoo have lost the plot completely.

Oh my goodness and I've lost the chance of earning 10 points. But to answer your question, yes I do and if they carry on the way they are they will not have anyone to serve violation notices too.
We will have all gone elsewhere.

PS Hope you know who wins.

I think that, if you take into account the number of questions asked per day, you'd probably find that they have a bot that searches out questions with certain keywords in them, and then dings the staff, or, more likely, some other bot which then pops out an automatic response..
Kinda like the old advertisement, untouched by human hands..
better luck..

Gambling with yahoo answer points ftw! Oh come on yahoo, get a grip, really. You would flag this but not do anything against all the hate posts on here? Sad sad sad.

It wasn't gambling. It was a violation for point GAMING. They dont want people participating for the sole purpose of gaming for points.

You can try rephrasing this kind of question by not mentioning points. It is assumed that you will vote your own choice for best answer, for what ever reason you choose.

I think Yahoo just wants to preserve this program for people who really need help on their computers and other areas. Sports and gambling really have no place here.

Hope that helps.

p.s. I'm going to Vegas next month...yay!!!

Oh don't worry about it. I was in violation because this idiot offended many people so I asked a question specifically to her that offended her as she did others and she reported me. Too many idiots not enough time! LOL

Not really, they are just taking things a little over the top. I see ehat they are getting at but I donlt think that you should have got that violation warning.

this is madness.
In order to gamble the other users have to BET something against the outcome!
You were merely offering a reward.
And you DID ask a question.
APPEAL to the highest court in the land!
This is a GROSS INJUSTICE!!!!!!
